At LesserEvil, we’re always looking for innovative new ways to keep our snacks and processes clean and sustainable, and that goes for our packaging as well. It’s an unfortunate truth that many municipal recycling centers do not have the means to process or repurpose all materials that get recycled. Despite consumers’ best efforts, a large portion of recycled goods end up in landfills (learn more about this issue here: Your Recycling Gets Recycled, Right?).
That’s why we partner with NEO Plastics when it comes to packaging our snacks. NEO provides an entirely new, sustainable solution for discarded plastics. Their packaging contains an organic additive which, once discarded into a landfill, accelerates the natural microbial process by creating a biogas which can be collected and turned into clean, renewable energy.
By supporting landfill gas energy (LFGE) projects and the Zero Waste movement, NEO stands beside recycling, composting, and other clean energy initiatives in creating a pathway to sustainability in packaging. We’re proud to work with them!
